July Author & Illustrator Adventure: Fractured Fairytales

This one of a kind writing class is uniquely designed to easily foster imagination and creativity. Young authors will find how fun it can be to fracture a favorite fairytale. We begin by reviewing the key components of a traditional fairytale. Then, we select a fictional story element we would like to fracture from our chosen story, organically creating a new version like no other. The imagination flows from there as we work through the writing process. Each student will be provided with their own hardcover book. At the end of each class an artist will provide instruction and ideas on how to best illustrate their one of a kind book. In order to complete the book, students will need to do some work individually at home. Young authors will have the opportunity to showcase their work at a book party during our last class.
